Lizzy Jongma (1970) works as a datamanager in the Collections information department of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. She studied History at the University of Nijmegen (Netherlands) and specialized in digitization, automation of structured metadata and online presentation of Cultural Heritage. Lizzy has worked as a developer, adviser and project leader in this field since 1998. She now works on sharing, structuring and linking digital collection information: the Rijksmuseum API (sharing collection information as open data), the Rijksmuseum Open Data Policies, Rijksmuseum’s Rijksstudio Website, the New Object Description Manual (implementation of quality controlled collection annotation), Annotation Tool (connecting structured metadata to the Collection management System), Rijksmuseum Persistent Identifiers, and Accurator (niche source project).
Lizzy Jongma also works on structuring metadata for sharing collection information with portalsites like Europeana and ArtStor and is currently working on Rijksmuseum Linked Open Data. Lizzy Jongma is an Open Data advocate and speaks frequently about the importance of Being Open (for Cultural hertitage Institutions).
